Jerod Evans surprised everybody last year when he decided to leave Virginia Tech for the NFL. Evans went undrafted, but signed with the Philadelphia Eagles over the summer. However, the Eagles waived him after he suffered a minor injury not long after. After months on the sidelines, Evans has found a new NFL home. https://twitter.com/packers/status/920393427170230273 The Green Bay Packers have signed Jerod Evans to their practice squad. Evans put up a photo on Instagram earlier today of him being in Green Bay, the first sign that he was set to join the Packers. This is an ideal situation for Jerod Evans as he will get to learn from one of the best offensive minds in the NFL in Mike McCarthy along with getting to be around one of the NFL's elite QBs, Aaron Rodgers. Evans will be the Packers' third-string QB for the time being with Green Bay only carrying two healthy quarterbacks in Brett Hundley and Joe Callahan. Jerod Evans shined in his one season in Blacksburg throwing for 3,546 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions with a 63.5% completion rate. Evans also ran for 846 yards and 12 touchdowns, leading Virginia Tech to its best offensive season in program history. Congrats to Jerod Evans on signing with the Green Bay Packers' practice squad.
