When the Virginia Tech Hokies face UNC this Saturday, Lane Stadium will host its third sellout of the 2017 season. https://twitter.com/VT_Football/status/920768455627956224 The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced that the Hokies' game against the Tar Heels was officially sold out on Wednesday, extending Tech's current sellout streak to three games. The Old Dominion and Clemson games earlier this season also sold out. The Hokies have a long way to go, though, if they hope to reach their record sellout streak. Virginia Tech sold out 93 straight games from the 1998 season until 2013. That streak ended when 61,355 fans showed up to the Hokies' home opener against Western Carolina in the 2013 season. With the Hokies playing better than they have in recent seasons and the ACC Coastal race wide open, it makes sense that more fans would be interested in attending games at Lane Stadium. Tech still has two more home ACC games on its schedule this season, hosting Duke on October 28th and Pittsburgh on November 18th. Saturday's game marks the opening of ACC Coastal play for the Hokies, who are currently 1-1 in ACC play. The Hokies and Tar Heels kick off at 3:30 p.m with the game being shown on ESPN2.
