Virginia Tech Unveils New Uniform for North Carolina Game

VT UNC Jersey
For the Homecoming game this weekend, the Hokies are unveiling a brand new jersey that fits the Orange Effect theme. https://twitter.com/VTEquipment/status/920808078005624832 The Hokies are wearing an all orange jersey with the word Hokies across the chest. It'll include the normal Nike swoosh, ACC Football patch, VT Football 125th Anniversary logo in the upper right corner of the jersey, and the VT logo in the middle of the collar. Of course, the big difference is the jersey will not entail the typical Hokie colored stripes on the shoulders. They'll go with more of a traditional jersey in that it is strictly all orange and white fill. The helmets are all white, with a maroon and orange stripe down the middle. The VT logo will be filled with orange, the same color as the jerseys. The full uniform will be rounded off with white pants, white socks, and white shoes.

Opinion

I like the fact Virginia Tech is doing something for this game in using a different template for the jersey. I'm among the fans who enjoy the "simple" jerseys, preferably the home jerseys worn in the Tyrod Taylor era. However, I saw something on Twitter that I wholeheartedly agree with, and that is the jerseys are all about the recruits. If we can "wow" the recruits on campus and watching with the different jerseys, than I think that is a great recruiting tool and we should continue to switch it up. As for this jersey, I'm typically a fan of the more maroon dominant jersey, but I am a fan of this orange uniform. I like the helmets with the orange fill and I like the no Hokie colored stripes on the shoulder.
