Hokies fans will see a familiar look on Saturday as the Virginia Tech Hokies take on Pitt in the final home game this season. https://twitter.com/HokiesFB/status/930945448159907841 The HokiesFB Twitter account announced Wednesday that the Hokies would don the same uniforms that they wore last season in the Belk Bowl. This uniform combo is made up of a white helmet, maroon jersey and white pants. The helmet has a maroon VT outlined in orange on either side and an orange stripe down the middle with maroon trim. Saturday’s uniform will be the 10th different combination worn by the Hokies this season and the first time they have worn this specific combination. The last time the Hokies wore these uniforms, they played Arkansas in the 2016 Belk Bowl. The Razorbacks went up early, outscoring the Hokies 24-0 in the first half. The Hokies came out of the gate firing in the second half and scored 35 unanswered points to beat Arkansas 35-24. Travon McMillian ran the ball nine times for 34 yards and a touchdown to help the Hokies finish off the dramatic comeback. Cam Phillips led the Hokies with 6 receptions for 115 yards in the game on his way to earning Belk Bowl MVP honors. The Hokies are 2-2 so far this season when wearing maroon jerseys, and 4-2 when wearing white pants. The only time Tech has broken out these specific helmets this season was in the 28-10 loss against Miami in Week 10. Tech fans will be eager to see if these uniforms can bring the same luck as they did in the Belk Bowl, with their hopes of a 10-win season on the line. Saturday’s game will serve as Senior Day for the Hokies and will kick off at 12:20 in Lane Stadium on the ACC Network.
