Virginia Tech Offers 2019 Four-Star DB Briton Allen

VT Cheerleaders 1
As most teams are shifting their focus to their bowl games or the offseason, schools are also increasing their focus on recruiting and finding talent including Virginia Tech. Recently, the Hokies have sent out a good amount of offers including one to 2019 four-star DB Briton Allen. https://twitter.com/AllenBriton/status/935902966871220232 Virginia Tech was the ninth school to offer Allen, joining a solid offer list that should only grow for the Orlando DB. Here's his full list of offers.
  • ACC: Virginia Tech, NC State, North Carolina, Syracuse
  • SEC: South Carolina, Kentucky
  • Big 10: Maryland, Indiana
  • Conference USA: Florida Atlantic
Allen has impressed some scouts as ESPN has him ranked 255th nationally in their ESPN Jr. 300 while the 247 Sports Composite has him as the 276th best junior in America. Allen is also ranked as a top 20 safety and top 45 recruit in Florida by ESPN and the 247 Sports Composite. The Orlando DB told us that the Hokies' offer was a "complete surprise" to him and that Allen hadn't had much contact before the Hokies offered him. However, it would seem likely that the Hokies will increase their contact with Allen and look to bring him on campus for a visit sometime in the near future. Allen also doesn't have a leader or any schools standing out so there is definitely room for VT to become seriously involved in his recruitment. Briton Allen told us that he doesn't have a leader at this point, but the Hokies do have an interesting connection as he is close friends with current VT commit Braxton Clark and grew up playing football with him. This connection should be beneficial for the Hokies along with the fact that VT has back-to-back years with at least one commit from Orlando after signing Robert Porcher IV in the Class of 2017. Allen said it "would be nice to play with someone I'm familiar with," but also made it clear that it won't be a deciding factor. However, what's certain is that the Hokies' connection to Allen through Clark definitely can't hurt. Briton Allen is still early on in his recruitment, and the Hokies are ready to get involved as they look to sign at least one Orlando recruit for the third-straight year. For now though, Briton Allen is still in the early stages of his recruitment with his offer list just starting to grow.
