Virginia Tech has a large class of defensive backs, but VT has been looking to add one more cornerback who could play immediately. JUCO CB Jeremy Webb emerged this fall as the Hokies' primary defensive back target and tonight, the Hokies received some good news. https://twitter.com/JeremyRayshad1/status/941845362192633856 Four-star JUCO CB Jeremy Webb out of ASA College announced that he has committed to Virginia Tech. Webb is the Hokies' 25th commit in their 2018 class and eighth commit that either is a defensive back or is expected to play defensive back. Webb is also the second commit of the day joining three-star TE and SWVA star James Mitchell. Jeremy Webb is rated as a four-star by all of the major recruiting sites with ESPN ranking him as the 19th best JUCO recruit and the 247 Sports Composite ranking him 11th among JUCO recruits. Webb is ranked as the second best JUCO cornerback in the nation by ESPN and 247 Sports Composite. Webb also has a strong offer list that includes the following schools:
  • ACC: Virginia Tech
  • SEC: Tennessee, Ole Miss
  • Big 12: West Virginia, Iowa State
  • Big 10: Nebraska
  • AAC: UCF, Temple
Webb is another impressive pickup for Virginia Tech and CBs coach Brian Mitchell deserves lots of credit. Mitchell has made Webb a priority and throughout his recruitment, Webb told us how he had a great relationship with Mitchell. That combined with VT's DBU reputation and the opportunity to play immediately helped make the difference for the Hokies to get his commitment.
