Virginia Tech's primary focus is on the recruiting trail with offseason workouts just starting to get under way. During the past few days, the Hokies have sent out a pair of offers to talented 2020 offensive recruits. https://twitter.com/JalenBerger/status/953707039074799616 https://twitter.com/LukeDoty9/status/954409839110901761 Virginia Tech has extended offers to 2020 four-star RB Jalen Berger (Ramsey, NJ) and 2020 QB Luke Doty (Myrtle Beach, SC) this week. Doty is the third 2020 QB to be offered by the Hokies while Berger is among several RB offers including ones to five-star Richmond RB Chris Tyree and four-star Northern Virginia RB Blake Corum. Jalen Berger is ranked as the 94th best 2020 recruit, ninth best 2020 ATH, and #1 2020 New Jersey recruit by 247 Sports. Luke Doty is currently unranked by all recruiting services. Berger has a strong offer list that includes the following schools according to 247 Sports:
  • ACC: Virginia Tech, Syracuse
  • Big 10: Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, Nebraska, Maryland, Rutgers
  • SEC: Alabama
  • AAC: Temple
Luke Doty has a solid offer list from regional schools according to 247 Sports:
  • ACC: Virginia Tech, NC State, North Carolina
  • SEC: South Carolina
  • AAC: East Carolina
  • Conference USA: Charlotte
  • Sun Belt: Coastal Carolina
While both of these recruits are still in the offer-receiving stage, Berger and Doty are major targets at their positions for the time being. Of course, part of that could change based on interest especially with a load of Big 10 schools and Alabama offering Berger before the Hokies did. However, Jalen Berger and Luke Doty are two names for Virginia Tech fans to remember in the Class of 2020.
