Virginia Tech Offers 2020 Four-Star OT Bryn Tucker During Junior Day Visit

Bryn Tucker 1
While the Class of 2019 is the focus for Virginia Tech on the recruiting trail, the Hokies are seeing their 2020 recruiting board come together as they continue to extend more offers. That continued yesterday with four-star OT Bryn Tucker visiting Blacksburg as a part of VT's Junior Day. Bryn Tucker told us that VT offered him yesterday while he was on his Junior Day visit. The Hokies are the 13th team and 12th power 5 program to offer the four-star OT from Knoxville, Tennessee. Tucker told us that he had an "outstanding visit" and mentioned that "the coaches are winners. They want to win bowl games after bowl games, and a National Championship. The strength and conditioning coach is awesome as well." Tucker told us that this visit combined with receiving an offer has the Hokies in his "top 8." Tucker also told us that he plans to attend a Virginia Tech game this fall and is hoping to visit for a practice this spring. He also told us that he will "probably" visit Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Alabama this spring. Virginia Tech has made themselves contenders for Tucker thanks to this offer, but VT has a lot of work to do in a recruitment where VT has some significant challenges. Tennessee has the big benefit of being the hometown school for Tucker with the Vols likely having Tucker as one of their top priorities in the 2020 class. However, that isn't a guarantee as we saw 2018 five-star OT Cade Mays choose to go to Clemson after a coaching change. The Hokies are in the hunt for Bryn Tucker after offering him yesterday, but they still have their work cut out if they want to beat out some of the other big time schools on his list including the hometown Tennessee Volunteers.

Bryn Tucker in the Recruiting Rankings

247 Sports currently has Tucker ranked as the 26th best 2020 recruit in the country. Tucker is also ranked as the fourth best OT and second best recruit in Tennessee by 247 Sports. Rivals and ESPN have not rated Tucker yet.
