Demetri Moore Has Taken a Medical Disqualification From Football

Helmet 1 1
Demetri Moore was one of the first true Justin Fuente recruits as one of two JUCO recruits who were a part of Virginia Tech's 2016 recruiting class which included JUCO star Jerod Evans. Over the past two years, Moore has slowly but steadily worked his way up the depth chart and was poised to push for a role on the offensive line this spring. Yesterday, Moore's name was not listed on the Hokies' spring roster and unfortunately, it wasn't a mistake. https://twitter.com/techlunchpaild/status/973586734868025344 Demetri Moore has taken a medical disqualification and is no longer on the Virginia Tech football team per a Virginia Tech athletics spokesman. Moore will remain on scholarship, but his scholarship will not count against the 85-scholarship limit. Moore played in two games this past season against East Carolina and Old Dominion as a backup offensive lineman. He was expected to be a backup offensive lineman this upcoming season with a chance to compete for the starting job at left guard. Going forward, Moore's departure shrinks the competition slightly at left guard with Kyle Chung, Tyrell Smith, D'Andre Plantin, and Austin Cannon among those to watch at that spot. We wish Demetri Moore the best as he completes his degree at Virginia Tech.
