Elite RB Devyn Ford Sets Decision Date, Plans to Take April Official Visit to Virginia Tech

VT Cadets VT Flag 1
In case you haven't heard, Devyn Ford is Virginia Tech's #1 priority in the 2019 class. The talented RB out of North Stafford High School near Northern Virginia recently cut his elite list of offers down to 6 schools. Now, the four-star RB has a commitment date and a few officials set up. https://twitter.com/tcoghilljr/status/978649890241896448 Taft Coghill Jr. of the Free Lance-Star has reported that Devyn Ford will announce his commitment on May 18th. The elite RB will also take official visits to Virginia Tech, Ohio State, and Penn State before making his decision. While Ford did release a top 6 recently, the fact that he is taking official visits to Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Ohio State have separated themselves from Clemson, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. Those official visits appear likely to be decisive in Ford's recruitment though the Hokies should enter those visits as the on-paper favorite. Not only do the Hokies have the in-state advantage, but they've also had Ford on-campus in February. According to 247 Sports, the Hokies will receive Ford's first official visit for VT's Spring Game followed by trips to Penn State and Ohio State. Penn State and Ohio State both have also made Ford a top priority. The Nittany Lions have an interesting connection here as Ford's teammate, 2018 four-star OL Nana Asiedu, signed with Penn State. Devyn Ford's recruitment is beginning to approach the final stage as the Hokies will look to make a big push to land their top target for the third-straight year after getting Devon Hunter in their 2017 class and Dax Hollifield in their 2018 class.
