Virginia Tech is in a Good Place for 2020 Four-Star RB Chris Tyree

While Virginia Tech's recruiting focus is primarily on the 2019 class, the Hokies are also starting to put in a good amount of work to their 2020 recruiting class. The Commonwealth of Virginia appears loaded with talent in 2020 including elite RB Chris Tyree out of Thomas Dale HS in the Richmond area. Recently, Chris Tyree caught up with us to talk about where he currently stands in his recruitment. Chris Tyree told us that the Hokies are currently in a "good place" in his recruitment. Tyree told us that Virginia Tech is among the schools recruiting him the hardest along with programs like Mississippi State, Clemson, Penn State, Duke, Virginia, and Wake Forest. Tyree has taken his fair share of visits in 2018 including visits to Virginia Tech, Georgia, Mississippi State, Tennessee, West Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia with visits to Wake Forest and Florida State upcoming. His visit to Blacksburg came on one of VT's best visit weekends of 2018 in terms of high level talent being on campus, February 3rd. Tyree told us that his Blacksburg visit was awesome. When we asked him what stood out about that visit, this is what he told us. "I really liked that visit because there it very personal as they only invited a few recruits so we got to spend more quality time with coaches and a few of the players," Tyree said. Tyree told us that his visit showed how interested the Hokies were in him and showed how much the Hokies want him to be in Blacksburg. What's clear from what Tyree did tell us is that the interest is mutual between the Hokies and him. Right now, Tyree is still focused on taking lots of visits to "as many schools" as he can before starting to cut down his list to his top schools. However, the Hokies have made a strong impression on the Richmond star and should be a serious contender for a RB who will be one of their top targets in the 2020 class.
