Tremaine Edmunds Will Attend the 2018 NFL Draft

Tremaine Edmunds 3
What a career it was for Tremaine Edmunds. The star linebacker has established himself as one of the many defensive greats at Virginia Tech, putting himself alongside names like Bruce Smith, Kam Chancellor, Kendall and Kyle Fuller, Brandon Flowers, and DeAngelo Hall. Bud Foster and the Lunch Pail defense have never failed to impress NFL scouts, and this season was no exception. Earlier today, it was announced that Edmunds would be attending the NFL Draft in Arlington, Texas in the Green Room. Edmunds will be joined by his family, Justin Fuente, and Bud Foster among others. Other players attending include: RB Saquon Barkley of Penn State; QB Sam Darnold of USC; QB Josh Allen of Wyoming; LB Shaquem Griffin of UCF, and QB Lamar Jackson of Louisville. Certainly, being on a list with those players means that Edmunds is a part of special company. The linebacker out of Danville, VA; who ran a 4.54 40-yard dash and scored a 19 on the 225-bench press, is projected as a first rounder by NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. Zierlein stated that Edmunds “combines elite size, speed, and explosiveness into a productive versatile linebacker package that will have evaluators salivating." (NFL.com) Tremaine Edmunds earned a First Team All-ACC selection last season, as he finished with 109 tackles, 14 for loss, 5.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He ended his career 213 tackles, 33 for loss, and 10 sacks. The questions that remains now is how long will Edmunds have to wait in the green room before hearing his name called and taking the stage in Arlington. With the way things are trending, it appears that won't be very long.
