2020 WR KeAndre Lambert Recaps His Great Visit to Virginia Tech

Ke Andre Lambert Spring Game
Less than five weeks ago, Virginia Tech extended an offer to 2020 757 WR KeAndre Lambert. While offers in the 757 usually draw a fair amount of attention, this one drew even more than normal given how Lambert is the nephew of Pro Bowl safety and former VT star Kam Chancellor. That type of Virginia Tech connection does not fly under the radar and because of that, many Hokie fans were even more excited about this offer. With the Spring Game being this past weekend, Virginia Tech hosted a very talented group of recruits including Lambert who caught up with us after to talk about his visit to Blacksburg. https://twitter.com/dre_lambert/status/985273679557865477 KeAndre Lambert told us that his visit was "great" and that the "great fan base" and "family feeling" where it felt like "everyone knew everyone" stood out to him. After his visit, Lambert told us that Virginia Tech is "sitting well" in his recruitment and among those standing out along with South Carolina, Wake Forest, and Clemson (who hasn't offered). Why are the Hokies among those standing out for Lambert? "They are one of the best in the engineering department. It’s all love around campus. They have the most supportive fans and are an all-around great program," Lambert said. Those are some strong statements on the big impression that the Hokies have made on Lambert already. Lambert was also quick to share his excitement about being on campus in Blacksburg on Twitter. https://twitter.com/dre_lambert/status/985221670188265472 Right now, the Hokies are the on-paper favorites for Lambert in part because of his in-state status and his connection to Blacksburg via Kam Chancellor. However, Lambert told us that his family connection is "not too big" of a factor and that Chancellor "tells me to enjoy the process and go where I feel the fit is best." While Virginia Tech may be the on-paper favorites, South Carolina appears to be a serious contender as a school that is among those standing out. Meanwhile, Clemson looms largely in his recruitment as the only school currently standing out that hasn't offered him. The Hokies are in good shape early on for KeAndre Lambert, but they have a lot of work ahead to gain a commitment from one of the top 2020 recruits in the 757.
