Three-Star TE Kyle Bilodeau Excited About Virginia Tech Offer

HOKIES Flag 1
Three-star TE Kyle Bilodeau took part in Virginia Tech's Richmond satellite camp hoping to earn an offer from the Hokies. Bilodeau took advantage of his opportunity and impressed VT's coaching staff to earn one of a few offers handed out last night. https://twitter.com/kylebugb/status/1004184041099325442 "I’m real excited about it. I felt like I had a good shot going into camp and if I played well I would get offered. That’s what happened and it was a great night," Bilodeau said about his offer. Bilodeau told us that he visited Virginia Tech a few months ago for a Junior Day and that the Hokies' interest started then. While Bilodeau has been on the Hokies' radar, last night was his first chance to work out for the Hokies' coaches and he left a strong impression. So how does this offer impact his recruitment and VT's standing in it? "I think VT has a lot to offer. They use tight ends a lot and in different ways. There is the opportunity for me to play early and often, and they compete for ACC Championships every year. They are one of my favorites for sure. In terms of my recruitment, I’m planning on making a decision later this summer so it’s great they jumped in." In addition, Bilodeau added that the Hokies and NC State are currently standing out for him. The fact that the Hokies are already in such strong standing is a great sign that VT will be a serious contender in his recruitment. So how does Bilodeau feel he would fit in VT's offense? "I think it would be a good fit for me. They use the TE in a lot of different ways and have been extremely successful in doing so. They like to stretch the field and either send the TE deep to make plays or keep in-line to block. I do both well." Given how the Hokies have used tight ends as h-back and slot receivers, having that type of versatility is important for any VT tight end target. Looking ahead, Bilodeau hopes to visit Virginia Tech sometime this summer before making a decision. In the immediate future, Bilodeau told us that he plans to take several visits including trips to Penn State, Purdue, and Pittsburgh this week. For the Hokies, it'll be important to work quickly to get a trip to Blacksburg set up with him. Kyle Bilodeau earned his Virginia Tech offer last night with the Hokies now having the work ahead to earn his commitment.
