Virginia Tech Picks Up First Defensive Line Commit of 2019 Class

Norell Pollard, a 6'2", 265-lb defensive end from Apopka, Florida, committed to Justin Fuente and the Virginia Tech Hokies this afternoon. Pollard is the first defensive lineman to commit to the Hokies in the 2019 class. He played his high school football at Wekiva High School. Pollard was recruited to the Hokies by defensive line coach Charlie Wiles. https://twitter.com/rell_honcho/status/1008882175880593409 He is ranked as the 40th best strongside DE by 247 Sports, 47th best strongside DE by Rivals, and 70th best defensive end by ESPN. Pollard is also ranked 84th out of all players in the state of Florida by 247 Sports and 79th best by ESPN. 247 Sports has him ranked 618th nationally. Pollard is rated as a three-star recruit across the board.
