Virginia Tech has received another commitment for the 2019 recruiting class. Nick Gallo, younger brother of former Hokies’ center Eric Gallo, committed to Virginia Tech on Tuesday, making the announcement on Twitter. Gallo, who stands at 6-3.5 and 228 pounds, comes from Southampton, Pennsylvania, where he attended Council Rock High School South. Nick Gallo is the No. 570 overall player in the country and the No. 25 ranked tight end recruit according to 247Sports. The three-star player is the first commitment at tight end for the Hokies in the 2019 class. Gallo had 14 total offers, most of them coming from Power 5 schools. ACC schools Boston College, Duke, UNC, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Wake Forest all offered scholarships to Gallo. As Gallo follows in the footsteps of his older brother Eric, he continues the trend of brothers playing for Virginia Tech. Head coach Justin Fuente expressed his excitement on Twitter, tweeting out "Family tradition. START JUMPING!!!" Gallo joins three other commits for the Hokies this month and will be the 10th commit for Virginia Tech’s 2019 class. He follows three-star defensive end Norell Pollard, who committed to Tech on Monday. With the commitment, the Hokies’ 2019 recruiting class now ranks fifth in the ACC and 29th nationally according to 247 Sports. Gallo was recruited by Adam Lechtenberg and James Shibest.
