From the moment Virginia Tech's focus on 2019 recruiting started to increase last summer, three-star WR Jacoby Pinckney was a top offensive priority and has continued to be such since then. Today, the talented South Carolina recruit came to a decision that has the Hokie coaching staff quite happy.
Jacoby Pinckney announced today that he has committed to Virginia Tech. Pinckney chose the Hokies over fellow finalists
Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan.
Pinckney is the third true wide receiver to commit to VT alongside Elijah Bowick and Tayvion Robinson with likely WR Jaden Payoute and ATH Jahad Carter also committed. He is also the first commit from South Carolina in VT's 2019 class.
Pinckney is a big pickup for the Hokies especially given how long VT has pursued the three-star WR. VT was one of the first to offer Pinckney and even as his offer list grew significantly, VT continued to be the constant at the top of his recruitment leading up to his commitment that has seemed inevitable for months.
