Virginia Tech Offers 2020 Four-Star LB Phillip Webb

Andrew Motuapuaka 1
Virginia Tech hasn't offered many linebackers in the 2020 class, but added four-star LB Phillip Webb from Buford, GA to that list earlier this week. https://twitter.com/PhillipWebb/status/1022206771836997633 Webb told us that he was "very excited" to receive his VT offer, his 16th overall including his seventh from an ACC program. The four-star LB has seen his recruitment blow up over the past several months with the Hokies and Texas A&M becoming the latest schools to offer him in the month of July. With Webb's offer list just starting to expand and his junior season set to start soon, Webb plans to be patient in his recruiting process despite his excitement over receiving new offers. "I’m thankful for all the opportunities being brought to me and will focus on who provides me the best opportunity on and off the field after this season," Webb told us. Webb is still working on his visit plans for the fall, but he does plan to visit several schools for games with VT being among the teams under consideration. For the Hokies, it'll be important for them to get him on campus if they want to become a more serious contender. The Hokies have had some success in Georgia with Zohn Burden leading the charge for the Hokies in the Peachtree State. Webb is also from the Buford area where the Hokies have sent out plenty of offers to rival Buford High School in the past but VT clearly knows the area and talent pool well. Going forward, Phillip Webb seems likely to add more offers with the Hokies simply being the latest team to offer the four-star linebacker.

In the state of Georgia, Webb is ranked 26th best by Rivals and 28th best by the 247 Sports Composite.
