For months, Virginia Tech has been looking to fill an open scholarship after the departure of
Tyrie Jackson. Today, the Hokies received some great news from one of the breakout players of the summer who has reclassified back to the 2018 class in Winston-Salem SG Isaiah Wilkins.

"I feel like they fit my style of play and I feel like going there can elevate my game to a even higher level," Wilkins said on why he chose the Hokies.
He added that the Hokies made him feel like part of a "family" and that he felt this would be the "best decision for the future."
Wilkins joins four-star SF Landers Nolley and three-star PG Jon Kabongo in the Hokies' 2018 class with conflicting reports on whether Jarren McAllister has asked for a release from his
NLI or
not. Wilkins chose the Hokies over 2018 offers from Wake Forest, Wichita State, and Dayton.
With the addition of Wilkins, the Hokies possibly have one open scholarship remaining if McAllister does not end up playing for the Hokies this fall as initial reports suggested.
Given the departure of Jackson and the impending departure of McAllister, Wilkins fills a need to add more depth on the wing this fall. In addition, Wilkins had a very good final season of high school basketball averaging
22.2 points per game for Mount Tabor High School.
Congrats to Isaiah Wilkins on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
