The Deerfield Beach, FL defensive lineman will choose between Virginia Tech, Clemson, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Florida; and announce his decision at 6:30pm on the Tony Sands Show.
The Hokies are considered the
favorites in his recruitment coming off his visit to Blacksburg. If Dorlus does choose the Hokies, he would be the fourth commit from Florida and third FL defensive line commit in VT's 2019 class.
The Hokies have
plenty of need at the defensive tackle spot especially after the surprising departure of
Cam Goode. However, the Hokies have done well at making the position a priority in this recruiting cycle and gaining commitments from two of their top targets earlier this summer in
Mario Kendricks and
Norell Pollard.
Brandon Dorlus in the Recruiting Rankings
ESPN ranks Dorlus as the 66th best defensive end and 77th best recruit in Florida while the 247 Sports Composite ranks him as the 60th best strongside DE and 130th best recruit in the state of Florida.
247 Sports ranks Dorlus as the 135th best recruit in the state of Florida and the 65th best strongside defensive end. Dorlus is rated as a three-star by
Rivals.
