Three-Star DL Brandon Dorlus Commits to Virginia Tech

Hokie Bird 1 1
After gaining a commitment from three-star RB Keshawn King Saturday, Virginia Tech gained their second Florida commit within the past week, this one coming from three-star DL Brandon Dorlus. Dorlus is the 15th 2019 commit for the Hokies and third defensive line commit alongside Norell Pollard and Mario Kendricks. Overall, Dorlus is the fourth Florida commit for the Hokies joining King, Pollard, and Kendricks. Restoring defensive tackle depth was a priority for Virginia Tech in the 2019 class, and the Hokies have done so with Dorlus being a third guy who has the frame and size at 6'3'' and 270 pounds (according to 247 Sports) to be a defensive tackle at the next level. Recruiting services have Dorlus listed as a defensive end so it's clear that the Deerfield Beach lineman brings some versatility to the table.

Brandon Dorlus in the Recruiting Rankings

ESPN ranks Dorlus as the 66th best defensive end and 77th best recruit in Florida while the 247 Sports Composite ranks him as the 60th best strongside DE and 130th best recruit in the state of Florida. 247 Sports ranks Dorlus as the 135th best recruit in the state of Florida and the 65th best strongside defensive end. Dorlus is rated as a three-star by Rivals.
