Virginia Tech is Among 4 Standing Out for 2020 Four-Star RB Blake Corum After Visit

Blake Corum 2
Blake Corum is one of Virginia Tech's top running back targets in the 2020 class with the four-star tailback visiting the Hokies this past weekend for the Hokies' Blacksburg Bash recruiting barbecue. https://twitter.com/blake_corum/status/1023734845242007552 Corum told us that he had a "great" visit to Blacksburg and that his conversation with Justin Fuente stood out to him. Corum told us how he felt that conversation helped the two continue to build the relationship between Corum and the Hokies. This visit was his fifth trip to Blacksburg, a great sign of the mutual interest between Corum and VT. How did this visit impact his recruitment as a whole? "It impacted it a lot. I love VT. Every time I go, it's a great visit. They're definitely one of my top schools," Corum told us. After the visit, Corum told us that Virginia Tech is among four schools standing out in his recruitment alongside USC, Wisconsin, and Michigan State in part because of how those four schools are recruiting him the hardest. Corum also had this to say on why the Hokies are standing out for him? "It's my home state, I like the coaches and it's a great school," Corum said. Looking ahead, Corum told us that he intends to trim his recruitment down by the end of the season and make his commitment early next year. If he ends up a Hokie, VT will be getting a talented running back who looks up to one of the best running backs of all-time in Barry Sanders, and one of the best running backs in the NFL in the past decade in Marshawn Lynch. Why does Corum look up to those two tailbacks? "They are great running backs. Everything they did and do is what a complete running back should do," Corum said. Right now, the Hokies are in great shape for one of the best running backs on the East Coast in Blake Corum. However, the Hokies have plenty of work ahead in their pursuit of a tailback who has interest from Boston to Los Angeles.
