2020 Four-Star TE Michael Carmody Wants to Visit Virginia Tech This Fall

VT Offensive Huddle 2
Four-star TE/OT Michael Carmody has emerged as the second-best 2020 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania with a host of offers from power 5 schools including Virginia Tech, Penn State, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Recently, Carmody updated us on his recruitment including his fall visit plans. Though Carmody doesn't have any visits currently scheduled, the four-star TE/OL hopes to visit Virginia Tech, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and Duke this fall. Carmody specifically told us that the Hokies are a school that he wants to "visit again and see a game" at. The Hokies offered Michael Carmody in late May and have since "shown as much interest as they could’ve with all the recruiting rules," according to Carmody. That interest has clearly made an early difference in making VT a priority for a visit this fall. Though Carmody is evaluated by 247 Sports and Rivals as an offensive tackle, he does have the versatility to play either tight end or offensive tackle at the collegiate level. For now, the Hokies' focus will be setting up an unofficial visit with Carmody in the coming weeks as the four-star recruit begins to put together his fall visit schedule.

Michael Carmody in the Recruiting Rankings

In the 2020 class, Carmody is ranked as the 175th best recruit in the country by 247 Sports, 193rd best recruit by the 247 Sports Composite, and 236th best recruit by Rivals. Carmody is evaluated as an offensive tackle by the recruiting services with Rivals and the 247 Sports Composite ranking him as the 24th best offensive tackle, and 247 Sports ranking him as the 26th best OT. In the state of Pennsylvania, Carmody is ranked as the second-best recruit by all three rankings
