Beran is down to a final 3 of Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Northwestern; a trio of schools that have survived a multitude of cuts over the past few weeks as Beran trimmed his list from 7 to 4 to 3.
Before Beran trimmed his list down from 7 all the way to 3, he had this to say on why the Hokies made the cut.
"It's for a variety of reasons, but I’ve just been becoming more and more comfortable with the staff, strong academics, and the distance allows my support staff to have the opportunity to watch me play in a great league like the ACC," Beran said.
Beran will be taking an official visit to Virginia Tech next weekend while the Hokies' football team hosts Notre Dame. The timing of the official shouldn't be a surprise to anyone as Buzz Williams has shown a preference towards trying to hosts top targets on official visits during fall football weekends.
In addition, Beran is currently taking an official visit to Northwestern this weekend and according to
247 Sports, he also took an official to Georgia Tech at the end of August.
Given his official visit schedule, Virginia Tech has to be ecstatic about having the final official visit for one of the best in-state recruits. In a class that currently lacks any commitments, gaining a commitment from an overall top 100 recruit would be a huge momentum boost especially as the first signing window approaches.
Virginia Tech is right in the hunt for one of the summer's top breakout recruits with a prime opportunity to make a strong push next weekend.
