Virginia Tech Leads for 2020 Four-Star DE Coziah Izzard

Coziah Izzard 1
After visiting Virginia Tech this past weekend as a part of a loaded recruiting weekend in Blacksburg, 2020 four-star Coziah Izzard told us that Virginia Tech is currently the leader in his recruitment. Why are the Hokies his leader? "VT is showing the most interest right now, the coaches text me everyday, and I enjoy being at VT," Izzard said. This declaration of the Hokies being his leader comes after Izzard previously told us that VT was one of five schools standing out for him before he took visits to Penn State and Virginia Tech in consecutive weeks. In addition, Izzard visited the Hokies this past weekend and had this to say about his visit. "It was really good. I enjoyed the game a lot, and I got to talk to the coaches," Izzard said. "I had a really good time while I was at VT and can’t wait to be back for another visit." Izzard also said that his first moment coming out onto the field at Lane Stadium during warm-ups stood out to him. "Coming through the tunnel and walking out to the game; the view of all the fans and players was amazing," Izzard said. Looking ahead, Izzard told us that he hopes to visit Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, and North Carolina later this fall though he doesn't have any other visits scheduled at this time. In addition, look for the Hokies to push hard to try to get him back on campus either towards the end of this fall or right after the new year for one of their first 2019 Junior Days. Since Coziah Izzard first visited Virginia Tech, the Hokies have emerged as a top contender and have continued to build on that strong first visit for one of the best 2020 defensive linemen on the East Coast.
