Last night, three-star CB Mike Sainristil announced on Twitter that he has decommitted from Virginia Tech.

Sainristil had been committed to the Hokies since February before tonight's announcement. With Sainristil's departure, the Hokies have 17 commits including two true defensive back commits in four-star S/ATH J.R. Walker and four-star DB Nyquee Hawkins.
Numbers are tight, and it wouldn't be surprising if the Hokies were content with their current defensive back class. However, the Hokies could look to pursue a cornerback with recent offer and three-star CB Nehemiah Pritchett being a name to keep an eye on.
In addition, Sainristil's departure could mean that an athlete like Jahad Carter is more likely to end up on defense should the Hokies not add another defensive back given the tight numbers.
