After wearing the same uniform combination for the past three games, the Virginia Tech football team is switching things up this week against Pitt. The HokiesFB Twitter account revealed the uniforms for this weekend’s game and it’s a combination that fans will enjoy. This is the second time the team has worn this uniform combo this season after wearing it in the season-opening win against Florida State. Overall on the season, the Hokies are 3-3 wearing maroon helmets, and 1-1 in the matte maroon helmets. The Hokies have only worn white jerseys twice this season, and have gone 2-0 in those games, picking up wins on the road against FSU and Duke. Virginia Tech is also 3-3 in games while wearing white pants. I think this look is a good choice for the Hokies in this weekend’s game. Fans seemed particularly excited about the matte maroon helmets when they were broken out for the first game of the season, so it makes sense to keep bringing them back throughout the year. The combination as a whole seemed to work in the win over FSU, so maybe it will bring some luck to a team that is looking for its first win since Oct. 13. Fans will get to see this look when the Hokies take the field in Pittsburgh this Saturday.
