Virginia Tech-Miami Kickoff Time Announced

IMG 6191
Before the season, many expected Virginia Tech-Miami to be a de facto Coastal Championship game with the matchup likely to be on ABC or ESPN and away from the noon spot. While the Hokies and Miami are both out of contention officially in the Coastal after both picked up their losses to Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech respectively, the game still received a high visibility spot on ESPN. https://twitter.com/normwood/status/1061664486703140870 Virginia Tech and Miami will face off at 3:30pm this Saturday on ESPN. This will be the third time that the Hokies have played on ESPN this season and first time for a Saturday game. It's rare when a matchup of a 4-5 and 5-5 team would be broadcast on ESPN, but given the fact that many teams are playing cupcakes before rivalrly games along with the name brand value that Virginia Tech and Miami bring, it creates an unusual opportunity for a pair of teams struggling to make a bowl game to earn a spot on ESPN. The winner of this game should be in much better shape to get to a bowl game while the loser will have a must win next week with the Hokies ending their ACC schedule with Virginia (go 1-1 in the next 2 and VT likely schedules a game 12/1) while Miami hosts Coastal leader Pittsburgh. The stakes will be high for Virginia Tech and Miami for their ESPN matchup, but not in the way that anyone imagined at the start of the season.
