Virginia Tech Among Three Standing Out for 2021 Four-Star RB Evan Pryor

Evan Pryor July Recruiting Barbecue
It didn't take long this past summer for Evan Pryor to emerge as one of Virginia Tech's top targets in the 2021 class. Since being offered over the summer, the Hokies have shown lots of interest in the four-star RB and have emerged as one of three schools standing out in his recruitment along with Penn State and North Carolina. Why are the Hokies standing out for him? "The comfort I have with the staff there. Every time I come, they make me feel at home," Pryor told us. That comfort level likely grew when Pryor was on campus earlier this fall for the Hokies' primetime game against Notre Dame. Pryor had this to say about his VT visit. "It was great. I got to see the field in game day form, and seen how much the town rallies for the football team," Pryor said. "Everyone on campus loves the team and takes pride upon that." That visit along with the Hokies' heavy interest in him are likely two of the biggest reasons why Virginia Tech has been able to quickly emerge as one of his top contenders. In addition to his visit to Virginia Tech, Pryor told us that he has also visited Penn State and North Carolina this fall. Looking ahead, he added that he has plans to visit Notre Dame and Duke in the near future while also feeling that the Fighting Irish are the closest to becoming his next offer. One of the things that makes Pryor a unique talent is his versatility as someone who can be effective not only on the ground but also in the passing game and on returns, something that the Hokies look for in their running backs. That versatility has led him to eclipsing the 1,000 all-purpose yard mark this season, an impressive accomplishment for a high school sophomore. Pryor has also been peaking towards the end of his high school season as he recently ran for 140 yards on only 8 carries in a high school playoff game, showing why he's not only one of the top RBs in North Carolina, but one of the best RBs in the Class of 2021. Virginia Tech is a top contender early on for one of the best 2021 running backs in America in Evan Pryor, but the Hokies have plenty of work ahead to gain his commitment and sign him over two years from now.
