Over the past two weeks, Virginia Tech extended their win streak over Virginia to 15 and their bowl streak to 26 straight with a win over Marshall. Now, the Hokies know where they'll be going and who they'll be facing as they seek to have a winning season for the 26th straight year. https://twitter.com/MilitaryBowl/status/1069343946126569473 Virginia Tech will face Cincinnati in the 2018 Military Bowl at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The game will take place on New Year's Eve with a noon kickoff on ESPN. This game will be a rematch of the 2014 Military Bowl where the Hokies beat Cincinnati 33-17 with J.C. Coleman being the MVP of the game. This will be the second trip to Annapolis for both Virginia Tech. While the Hokies are playing in their 26th-straight bowl, Cincinnati is playing in a bowl game for the first time since the 2015 Hawaii Bowl. Justin Fuente had this to say about the Hokies playing in the Military Bowl (per VT press release). “Our team has battled to earn an opportunity to compete in the Military Bowl against Cincinnati,” Fuente said. “Knowing the strong alumni base we have in the Capital Region and in Northern Virginia, I’m excited about the possibility of so many Tech fans being able to join us for this game. We’d obviously love to send our seniors out on a winning note and conclude the season with a victory.”
