Virginia Tech Standing Out for 2020 Three-Star RB Ja'Bray Young

VT Fans 1
Virginia Tech is likely to sign multiple running backs in the 2020 class with the Hokies standing well early for multiple talented RBs including Ja'Bray Young out of Texas. Young told us that the Hokies are currently standing out in his recruitment. Young had this to say on why the Hokies are standing out for him. "It's because I talk to the coaches a lot, and the good things I’m hearing about Virginia Tech," Young said. Young added that the Hokies are currently recruiting him the hardest. In addition, Young is hoping to visit Virginia Tech and Syracuse in the near future. It also seems likely that Young will take some more visits in part because his recruitment seems likely to grow after his strong season. This past season, Young was extremely impressive with 181 carries for 1,833 yards and 15 touchdowns. In addition, Young has proven to be effective in the passing game including a 70-yard receiving touchdown in his final playoff game of the season. The most impressive thing has to be his average of 10.1 yards per carry especially given his volume of carries this past season. That type of productivity suggests Young is likely underrated and poised to gain several offers this offseason. Virginia Tech doesn't recruit in Texas often, but they've made a strong, early impression on talented three-star RB Ja'Bray Young.

Ja'Bray Young in the Recruiting Rankings

In the 2020 class, Young is ranked as the 40th best RB and 71st best recruit in Texas by 247 Sports, and the 57th best RB and 100th best recruit in Texas by the 247 Sports Composite.
