Williams told us that he was "excited" and "surprised" to receive an offer from Virginia Tech, adding that he had a "big smile" on his face. He added that he received the offer via a school visit from WRs coach Holmon Wiggins.
So what does this offer mean to Williams and VT's standing in his recruitment?
"I watched VT a lot growing up. I love watching reruns back when Michael Vick played. VT is a top notch school and one of my favorites," Williams said.
Williams doesn't have any visits scheduled at the moment, but Virginia Tech is a school that he wants to visit "sometime soon."
The Alabama pass rusher only has four offers at the moment, but his offer list is likely to grow with Georgia Tech being the school Williams feels is closest to offering.
Jeremiah Williams may be early in his recruitment, but Virginia Tech has gotten off to a solid start in their pursuit of him.
