Virginia Tech’s secondary was dealt another blow this week as Justin Fuente announced on Saturday that cornerback Jeremy Webb has suffered another Achilles injury, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch's Mike Barber. Webb missed this season due to an Achilles injury, and recently sustained an injury in his other leg. The Hokies' head coach announced that the injury will keep Webb sidelined during the upcoming spring. The 6-foot-4-inch junior came to Virginia Tech from ASA College in Brooklyn last offseason. He suffered his initial injury during the summer and was ruled out for the 2018 season. The loss of Webb is one of many injuries that have plagued the Hokies’ defense this season. Tech has had to play backups all year and the injuries seemed at times like they would not stop coming. Junior defensive back Reggie Floyd spoke on Webb’s injury, showing empathy for his teammate. “It’s just the worst thing that can possibly happen to somebody that’s coming back from an injury like that,” Floyd said. A four-star recruit when he signed with Tech, Webb will have to wait a bit longer until he can get back to full health for the Hokies. He should be able to make his Virginia Tech debut next fall.
