Bryn Tucker has emerged as one of the top offensive line recruits east of the Mississippi River along with being a top offensive target for Virginia Tech in the 2020 class. Tucker has also been quite interested in the Hokies himself with VT among a group of schools standing out. The Hokies are among 8 currently standing out for Tucker along with hometown Tennessee, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and Clemson. Clemson is the only school among those 7 to have not offered Tucker. Why are the Hokies standing out for Tucker? "I've been there plenty of times. Each visit is awesome. Coaches are awesome," Tucker said. Those visits to Virginia Tech included a trip to Blacksburg for the Hokies' game against Notre Dame which he said was an "unbelievable" visit. Looking ahead, Tucker told us that he hopes to visit Virginia Tech this spring along with the rest of his previously announced top 5, Oklahoma, and Clemson. Relationships matter in recruiting and Tucker told us that he has very good relationships with lots of offensive line coaches involved in his recruitment including VT's Vance Vice. "It's awesome, he is definitely a coach who supports no matter what. He can also teach about life, and he can teach how to be a premier offensive lineman," Tucker said about his relationship with Vance Vice. Tucker has proven to be one of the most versatile high-end offensive line prospects in the 2020 class with 247 Sports and ESPN considering him an offensive tackle and Rivals listing him as an offensive guard. However, Tucker told us that he will go wherever his coaches want him to go. "It doesn't matter. If the coach wants to put me in the position he wants to, then I will work hard at that position," Tucker said. That versatility is part of what makes Tucker one of the most intriguing offensive line prospects in the 2020 class along with his confidence in his skill set and his mentality. "I just love to finish people. Offensive lineman have to finish people. I'm good with my hands as well," Tucker said about his style of play. Looking ahead, Tucker told us that he is looking to trim in his list in the not too distant future. However, Tucker doesn't have any schedule yet for making his collegiate commitment. When he does make that decision, staying close to home (or even in his hometown of Knoxville) won't be a big factor for him. "It’s not a factor. My parents tell me go to the school that will treat you the best, and you will feel that is home to you," Tucker said. For Virginia Tech, Justin Fuente and company hope that they can make Bryn Tucker more at home in Blacksburg than anywhere else.
