Kaelon Black is one of the top offensive playmakers in the 757 and has received lots of regional interest in recent months including from Virginia Tech.
Black told us that the Hokies, one of his four offers, are currently recruiting him the hardest. Black also added that the Hokies “stand highly” in his recruitment alongside his other offers at the moment.
The 757 star RB doesn’t have any visits currently scheduled though it seems likely Virginia Tech will receive a visit from him at some point this spring. Black was also on campus this past fall when he visited Virginia Tech for their primetime game against Notre Dame and had this to say about his visit.
“It was great. I liked what i was saw and the atmosphere was great also,” Black said about his visit for that game.
What specifically stood out to him about his visit?
“The atmosphere. They had a lot of support coming from their fans, and got really loud for them even being down in the game,” Black said.
Clearly, Virginia Tech left a strong impression on Black this past fall while Black’s play has appeared to unsurprisingly leave a strong impression on the Hokies.
Kaelon Black told us that he ran for 1,051 yards and 13 touchdowns despite missing 4.5 games while also having a pair of 200+ yard rushing performances in the high school playoffs. Black showed this past season that he can be a very productive running back, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see his recruitment take off this spring.
Black isn’t sure which schools may offer him next though he previously mentioned this past fall that Cincinnati was a school showing lots of interest in him. However, Black seems likely to gain multiple Power 5 offers in the near future after his strong junior season.
For now, Virginia Tech is making Kaelon Black one of their top RB targets in the 2020 class with the Hokies already leaving a strong impression on the 757 playmaker.
