Kyjuan Herndon Feb 2019
Virginia Tech had a strong group of visitors on campus this past weekend including talented three-star RB Kyjuan Herndon who clearly enjoyed his Junior Day visit to Blacksburg. https://twitter.com/herndon_kyjuan/status/1094589231547248640 Part of Herndon's visit involved having the chance to spend some personal time with head coach Justin Fuente. "I got a chance to sit down with Head Coach [Justin] Fuente. He gave me some insight on what his vision is for the team and goals are for the season. He told me to keep grinding on and off the field and keep hitting the weights," Herndon said. Herndon also got to do more than just have a conversation on his Junior Day visit. "We met with the curriculum staff saw that their education is 1 of the best in country. They gave my family (Dad and Stepmother) a lot of love and a tour of the campus. They talked about the campus halfway through the trip home on how beautiful the campus is and how they love the visit. The BBQ was amazing. We sat in the Basketball Arena and that's where the coaches introduced themselves and what position they coach. We went into the gym and saw how they would help my body and game with the staff," Herndon said. Herndon told us that what stood out among all that on his visit was "how they value you as an athlete" mentioning specifically what he saw from the facilities and Virginia Tech's staff of nutritionists. Coming out of this visit, Herndon told us that Virginia Tech is now "very high" on his list of schools with this visit giving him a "big understanding of what advantages I have going to a school like Virginia Tech compared to others." Looking ahead, Herndon told us that he has visits planned to Purdue and LSU with the Boilermakers being his other Power 5 offer alongside the Hokies. For now, the Hokies are in great shape for Kyjuan Herndon after a Junior Day visit that went quite well.
