DJ Crossen No Longer With Virginia Tech Football Team

Defensive back D.J. Crossen is no longer with the Virginia Tech football team, a spokesperson for the team confirmed on Thursday afternoon. Crossen is no longer listed on the football team's roster. 247Sports was the first to report on the story, saying that Crossen had entered his name in the NCAA's transfer portal. News came out last month that Crossen had been suspended from the team since September of 2018. Joe Sirera of The News & Record first reported the story, with Virginia Tech releasing a statement shortly after. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back saw action in the first two games of the 2018 season, but did not register a tackle in either game. He did not play anymore for the rest of the season after the first two weeks. A native of Greensboro, N.C., Crossen was high school teammates with fellow Virginia Tech player Hendon Hooker. He committed to Virginia Tech in June of 2017 as a three-star recruit.
