Following Buzz Williams' departure from Virginia Tech, four-star guard Anthony Harris has opened up his recruitment. The 6-foot-3 guard from Fairfax, Va. made his announcement on Twitter on Thursday morning. "Although I will still consider Virginia Tech, In order to fully weigh all my options I have decided to reopen my recruitment." According to several recruiting reporters, Harris has been released from his National Letter of Intent, allowing him to sign with another school without having to sit out next season. Harris did state that he will still consider Virginia Tech though it will likely be an uphill battle to do so based on past situations like this across college basketball. With Harris receiving his release from Virginia Tech, he leaves the Hokies with three commits from the class of 2019. Harris was the highest-rated commit in the class, rated a four-star player by 247Sports. He was also the only in-state player committed to Virginia Tech. The three players still committed to Tech are four-star forward Emanuel Miller, three-star Yavuz Gultekin, and three-star point guard Andre Gordon which currently ranks 11th in the ACC. The departure of a head coach is almost always accompanied by players reopening their recruitment.
