2020 DE Kaimon Rucker Recaps Recent Virginia Tech Visit

Kaimon Rucker March 2019
From the campus layout to the relationships with the football coaches, 2020 DE prospect Kaimon Rucker had nothing but praise after his recent visit to Blacksburg. https://twitter.com/kruck75/status/1112161133488730117 "It was amazing," Rucker said. "The campus and facilities were beautiful." He also praised the layout of the campus and how close in proximity the academic buildings are. Yet Rucker was impressed not only by the campus, but also the football staff. During his visit, Rucker said that he and the other prospects did everything from having position meetings, to touring the campus, to touring the locker room and taking pictures. During that time, he said he was able to get to know defensive line coach Charley Wiles a little better. "We have a good relationship," Rucker said of he and Wiles. "I feel like we will bond more once the year goes on." Rucker said the Hokies are recruiting him as "a DE/OLB hybrid." Given the tendency of Bud Foster to play smaller, faster defensive ends, it seems that he would fit well in Foster's scheme. While the Hokies have not yet extended an offer to Rucker, he says he feels like it could be coming soon. "I think they're close," he said. "The only thing is that they want to see me compete in person." Rucker does not currently hold any Power 5 offers, but he said that visits such as this one to Virginia Tech will help attract some attention. Still, he is not too worried about name recognition, but rather about where he fits best. "I feel like [this visit] brought some more attention from Power 5 schools, which is good, but it's not about how good the school is," Rucker said. "It's about what school is good for me."
