Mike Young Hires Antwon Jackson as Assistant Coach

VT Band First Round 1
Mike Young has his third and final assistant coach set to join him at Virginia Tech, according to CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein. Young has hired Cincinnati assistant coach Antwon Jackson to fill out his staff in Blacksburg. Webster was with Virginia Tech under former head coach Buzz Williams and Frazier joined the Hokies after spending seven seasons under Bruce Weber at Kansas State. Jackson has coached at Cincinnati since 2012, helping lead the Bearcats to seven NCAA Tournament appearances. Prior to his time at Cincinnati, Jackson had stops at UMass and William and Mary. Every program he has coached at has seen improvement during his tenure as an assistant. Known as a capable recruiter, Jackson has connections in the Virginia area. Prior to his college coaching experience, Jackson was an assistant coach at Paul VI High School in Fairfax, Va., which is where former Virginia Tech commit Anthony Harris is from. Between his recruiting abilities and his connection at Paul VI, Hokies fans should have a glimmer of hope that Harris may end up recommitting to the program. Jackson will round out the coaching staff after Frazier and Webster were announced. The Tech Lunch Pail's David Cunningham sent out a tweet shortly after the news came out that outlines how Young's staff will look next season at Virginia Tech.
