Virginia Tech is Hosting Former Wofford Commit Hunter Cattoor on an Official Visit

VT Students Miami 1
Former Wofford signee and 6'3'' guard Hunter Cattoor is taking an official visit to Virginia Tech this weekend after the Hokies recently offered the former Terriers' commit. The Orlando, FL native received his release from the Terriers last week and arrived in Southwest Virginia yesterday evening ahead of his official visit. Cattoor told us that he does not currently have any more visits scheduled after this one to Blacksburg. The Hokies have extended an offer to him, and are undoubtedly the largest school to have offered him to date followed by UCF out of the strong AAC and Atlantic 10 stronghold Davidson along with a few other teams who made the NCAA Tournament this past season including Belmont, Lipscomb, Bradley, and Wofford as you probably have already determined. Overall, Cattoor has received 22 offers, but told us that he has also received some interest recently from North Carolina and Wichita State. Cattoor has also seen many of his current offers beyond the Hokies show interest recently including Davidson and Furman. Given the volume of scholarships and need to add pieces just about everywhere including in traditional backcourt roles, an offer to Cattoor makes sense and shouldn't really be a surprise. Cattoor also has received some national respect being ranked 15th among 2019 recruits in the state of Florida by HoopSeen. HoopSeen's Justin Young also mentioned Cattoor as a mid-major recruit of note when he signed with Wofford back in November, and had this to say about what he can bring to the table. "They (Wofford) returned to the Sunshine State and grabbed a player who should have a big impact during his tenure in college with (Hunter) Cattoor. He’s a versatile guard who can score or beat you with his smarts. Cattoor was an anchor for the uber-successful Team M.O.A.M. program that dominated our HoopSeen platform in 2018." As Virginia Tech looks to fill their multitude of open scholarships with a mix of high school recruits, transfers, and hopefully a pair of Hokies who have put their names in the transfer portal, Hunter Cattoor appears to be a name to keep an eye on.
