Primarily recruited by Bud Foster, Willis originally
committed to Virginia Tech in September 2018. Since then, he has received offers from the likes of LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Alabama.
There is no doubt that Willis is one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2021 class. 247 Sports
lists him as the number 10 OLB in the country and the number 4 overall player from Maryland in his class.
For that reason, it was a bit surprising that Willis committed so early in the first place. Judging by his offer list, the 6-foot, 200 pound LB holds interest for plenty of big time schools.
As for Virginia Tech, the decommitment leaves their 2021 class with
no current commits. However, that is not at all uncommon this early in the process.
Aaron Willis in the Recruiting Rankings
Willis is ranked as the 162nd best 2021 recruit, tenth best OLB, and fourth best recruit in Maryland by 247 Sports.
