Virginia Tech Showing Interest in Clemson Grad Transfer Tavien Feaster

Virginia Tech's running back situation is arguably the biggest question mark the Hokies are facing as they head into the summer. VT's coaching staff also appears to have some concerns about the running back situation with the Hokies showing interest in Clemson grad transfer Tavien Feaster. https://twitter.com/RivalsWoody/status/1126273546999795712 While Feaster wasn't the top guy for Clemson last year, he was efficient and productive last season with 440 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns, and 5.6 yards per carry. In 2017, Feaster had a more prominent role with 663 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns while averaging 6.3 yards per carry. Feaster also has 23 receptions over those two seasons showing how he can be a versatile weapon out of the backfield. Unsurprisingly, Feaster has a wide range of interest from brand name programs and though Alabama is one of those schools, a move to the Crimson Tide would be surprising given the fact that he would likely have a similar role as he did at Clemson rather than be the featured back. One thing that could help the Hokies is the fact that he is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina and being relatively closer to home could help Virginia Tech. Additionally, the Hokies would definitely be able to give Feaster an opportunity to compete for immediate playing time and the featured role in a backfield looking for a star. There are plenty of questions about Virginia Tech's backfield heading into summer with the Hokies looking at the grad transfer market to add help to a backfield looking for either a new arrival or returning player to step up as the featured back.
