The 2021 class is poised to be one of the strongest in the Commonwealth of Virginia in years with 12 2021 recruits recently receiving four-star or better grades from 247 Sports including four-star ATH/RB TreVeyon Henderson out of Hopewell, Virginia. However, Henderson wasn't "surprised" by the ranking and has his focus set on working hard to make his upcoming high school season a special one. "I wasn’t really surprised. I don’t let the rankings get to me, but now that i’m ranked a 4 star, I know teams are going to be keying on me, so I’ve been work really hard on a daily basis this offseason improving my game. I feel that this season is ready be a special one," Henderson said. Henderson has also has received double-digit Power 5 offers including one from Virginia Tech. The Hokies have also been among the schools recruiting Henderson the hardest along with Michigan, Virginia, and Pittsburgh. Though Henderson doesn't currently have a leader in his recruitment, he told us that Virginia Tech currently stands "very high" in his recruitment. Part of that may be due to the visit he took in late March to Blacksburg that went quite well. "It was great, the staff there are amazing. Every time I go down there, they set the bar high!" Henderson said. TreVeyon Henderson was impressed by a few things including the "great" environment along with the coaching staff and the academics. Henderson had this to say about why he was impressed by Virginia Tech's coaching staff on his visit. "It was the first visit I took that almost every coach knew who I was. Their character and the way they worked with their players impressed me. The staff made me feel like I was home," Henderson said. Henderson was also impressed with what he saw on the academic side including Virginia Tech's Pamplin Business School and the Hokies' academic support. "Their business school is very good and you have people there to help you with school, people who want to see you succeed in life and pass," Henderson said. Virginia Tech wasn't the only place Henderson visited this past spring as he took visits to Virginia, Pittsburgh, and North Carolina. This also wasn't Henderson's first visit of 2019 as he also visited during late January. Looking ahead, Henderson is looking to visit some schools that recently offered him that he hasn't had a chance to visit which may include Florida, Notre Dame, and Michigan. Additionally, it wouldn't be surprising to see Henderson back on campus at some point this past summer given the clear amount of significant mutual interest though Henderson didn't specifically mention any school that he has a set date for visiting at this point. TreVeyon Henderson will be a name to watch in the 2021 class with Virginia Tech off to a great start in the pursuit of the talented ATH/RB out of Hopewell, Virginia.
