The three-star RB told us that Virginia Tech, Tennessee, and Pittsburgh are the finalists in his recruitment.
Beasley told us that he feels “comfortable” at all three places and mentioned that the fan base helped Virginia Tech make his final 3, the “atmosphere” helped Tennessee make his final 3, and the “after football advantages” helped Pittsburgh make his final 3.
Beasley told us that he has made his decision and when asked what were the key factors, he told us that while he didn’t have a key factor in particular, his parents played a major role in helping him make his collegiate decision.
Going into Friday, Virginia Tech looks like the clear favorite on-paper as the Hokies were the first Power 5 program to offer him and have made Beasley one of their top RB targets since. Adding Beasley would not only be a quality addition to their RB room, but would also give Virginia Tech some momentum in the 757 as they pursue other top targets like Beasley’s teammate/four-star WR KeAndre Lambert along with four-star DE Antwaun Powell and three-star ATH Lakeem Rudolph.
Beasley may not be the highest-rated player and a little undersized at 5’9”, but there’s no doubt that Beasley’s size hasn’t stopped him from being one of the most productive high school RBs in the Mid-Atlantic.
During the 2018 season, Beasley ran for 1,778 yards and 19 touchdowns averaging an impressive 12.1 yards per carry. Additionally, Beasley showed the type of versatility that Justin Fuente likes in his RBs with 18 receptions for 424 yards (an average of 23.6 yards per reception) and 4 touchdowns.
While nothing is certain, Virginia Tech appears to be in very good shape for CJ Beasley with the Hokies having a great chance to gain some more in-state recruiting momentum, especially in the 757, this Friday.
