"I was extremely happy when Coach (James) Shibest told me they are offering me," Jordan Dingle said about his reaction to the Hokies' offer.

Dingle's offer wasn't a culmination of previous interest but rather a burst of interest that came from his impressive camp performance.

"None really, the coaches from VT just were really impressed by my performance at the camp," Dingle said.

Dingle has seen an offer explosion over the past few weeks impressing at multiple camps with Powre 5 coaches while also impressing the scouts at Rivals enough to earn a four-star rating. In-state Louisville was among the first to get involved with Dingle as he sees the Cardinals as the team recruiting him the hardest at the time of offer.

So what type of tight end is Dingle? Here's what he had to say about how he would describe his style of play.

"I am able to catch the ball and get yards after the catch really well and am a pretty impressive blocker. I also am very versatile and can be moved in all different sets," Dingle said.

Dingle proved to be a quality pass-catching tight end last season as he had 39 catches for 446 yards and 4 touchdowns as a sophomore, very solid production for a tight end of his age.

Looking ahead, Dingle told us that he plans to visit Virginia Tech on July 27th for the Hokies' major recruiting barbecue while also planning to take visits to Ohio State, Louisville, South Carolina, Purdue, and Vanderbilt.
