2021 four-star offensive tackle Tristan Leigh has emerged as one of the best 2021 offensive line recruits in the Mid-Atlantic, seeing his offer list explode over the past few months with the Hokies among those pushing the hardest for him along with LSU and Penn State
Now, Leigh is looking ahead to taking some visits before the start of football season with Virginia Tech, where he had an “amazing” visit in late March, among the possibilities.
“I want to get to Michigan, South Carolina, and if I can, any other local one like Virginia Tech or UVA,” Leigh said adding that Penn State is also a school he’s looking to visit.
In the meantime, Leigh has built a strong relationship with OL coach Vance Vice that is “all about trust and getting to know each other beyond football.” Leigh also mentioned after his visit in late March that he had a “great” relationship with Vice with that relationship appearing to strengthen.
Leigh also has some major connections to Virginia Tech as he is cousins with the Edmunds brothers. That connection has given Leigh a familial source of advice for going through his recruitment and a trio with insight on Virginia Tech under Justin Fuente. Recently, Leigh has received some advice from former VT star and current Pittsburgh Steelers DB Terrell Edmunds both on his recruitment and VT.
“Terrell (Edmunds) and I were talking, and he said that I should stay focused and stay humble, and for VT, they said ‘you know where home is’,” Leigh said on what advice he’s received from the Edmunds brothers.
Leigh has not only emerged as a top target for many schools in the 2021 class but he’s also risen fast in the recruiting rankings as a four-star recruit ranked in the top 10 in Virginia, something that has given Leigh more motivation to get better.
“I was very grateful for the potential seen in me and my work getting recognized, but it’s only impacted me positively cause it makes me want to work even harder to get the 5th star,” Leigh said.
Tristan Leigh also has an idea on the things he wants to focus on getting better during this upcoming season.
“I’m going to focus on the little things, like hand placement and steps, and how I adjust to certain game situations,” Leigh said.
Fast-rising Tristan Leigh is a top target for Virginia Tech with Leigh looking at visiting Virginia Tech in the near future after a late March visit to Blacksburg.
