Writer : Ryan Wilkes

Ryan Wilkes

Hello Hokies! My name is Ryan Wilkes and I am a senior in the Sports Media and Analytics program at Virginia Tech. Growing up in Salem, Virginia, I have been around Hokie sports from a young age. I have had the pleasure to be involved with the broadcasting as well as the writing side of Hokie athletics. With 3304 Sports, the student-run sports media outlet at Tech, I've had the opportunity to broadcast and write for many Tech sporting events, including a trip to Hard Rock Stadium. I've also worked with the local radio station, ESPN Blacksburg. With the station, I broadcasted many Blacksburg High School sporting events such as basketball, football and soccer. I also contributed as a producer of the daily talk show, The Drive. The experience I've gained in school has led me to a broadcasting job with the Pulaski River Turtles. I'm looking to continue to build my writing portfolio and I'm excited to work with a talented team of individuals here at TLP. I can’t wait to see what the next few months hold, Go Hokies!
