Three-Star ATH Jefferson Boaz Earns Virginia Tech Offer

Virginia Tech football's first camp of the summer led to multiple new scholarship offers including one for three-star ATH Jefferson Boaz. Boaz had this to say about his reaction to receiving an offer from the Hokies. "I was super excited about being given this opportunity. Not many people say they have an opportunity to play at VT and I’m just so lucky to be able to. The coaches were awesome and the campus was beautiful," Boaz said. After working out for the Hokies' coaching staff, Boaz received the offer in a meeting with Justin Fuente where Boaz had the chance to get to know the Hokies' head coach. "It was really good. We got to catch up on each other’s background and kind of talk a little bit about ourselves," Boaz said about his meeting with Justin Fuente. Virginia Tech became the fourth ACC program to offer Boaz alongside North Carolina, Louisville, and Virginia, a sign of the regional consensus about Boaz's talent.
The Hokies see the 6'8'' Boaz as an offensive player with the North Carolinian having the potential to play tight end or quarterback, where he has played a lot in high school, at the collegiate level.
While the Hokies may have offered him after working him out heavily on the offensive side of the ball, VT's interest didn't suddenly start during his workout as Boaz told us that VT had a "pretty good amount" of interest in him but simply wanted to see him workout before extending an offer as they did this weekend.
Overall, Boaz sees this offer quite highly with Virginia Tech now being one of his "top schools."
"It’s a really special offer to me because of the tradition at VT and it’s just a dream come true but I’ll still evaluate it with all the others and make a good educated decision on where I go to school," Boaz said about the impact of this offer.
Looking ahead, Boaz plans to make a return trip to Blacksburg soon along with visits to multiple other regional schools.
"I’ll go back to VT soon but I’m doing a few more camps at NC State, UNC, Tennessee and South Carolina," Boaz said.
As camp season gets under way, Jefferson Boaz has emerged as a name to keep an eye on with plenty of offensive positional versatility.
