Virginia Tech regained some recruiting momentum right before the Fourth of July as three-star S Lakeem Rudolph committed to the Hokies.
Rudolph chose Virginia Tech over Cincinnati, East Carolina, Temple, Old Dominion, and Liberty from his top 6 along with other offers from Group of 5 and FCS programs. Rudolph is the Hokies' first defensive back commit in the 2020 class and second high school defensive commit along with three-star LB Tyreem Powell.
Since being offered, Rudolph has emerged as a top target at safety in part due to his intriguing athleticism and size. While some schools may have been hesitant due to his past injury, the Hokies did their due diligence and benefit from adding one of the most high-ceiling in the Commonwealth this cycle due to his size and athleticism.
